Super Eagles Encounter Mid-Air Scare Returning from World Cup Qualifier

The Nigerian national football team, Super Eagles, faced a mid-air scare when their aircraft developed a crack in the windscreen shortly after takeoff from Angola. The incident forced the flight to return to Luanda airport for safety checks, leaving players and officials stranded for several hours.

The team eventually secured a new flight and landed at Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo. The Super Eagles are preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Benin Republic.

They currently sit third in their group and hope for a favorable outcome in the final fixtures to secure automatic qualification.
