In the latest World Cup matches, Lionel Messi of Argentina scored his seventh consecutive goal, becoming the first player to achieve this feat, as Argentina secured a 3-1 victory against Jordan. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring with a penalty, followed by goals from Messi and Giovani Lo Celso.

Argentina finished first in Group J and will face Cape Verde in the next round. Meanwhile, Harry Kane became England's highest World Cup goalscorer with 11 goals after scoring in a 2-0 win against Panama.

Jude Bellingham also made history as the youngest England player since 1966 to score and assist in a World Cup match. Colombia finished top of Group K after a scoreless draw with Portugal, with James Rodriguez's efforts leading the attack.

They will meet Ghana in the knockout stage.
