Yaya Toure Becomes First Black Coach of Slovan Bratislava

Yaya Toure has been appointed as the first black coach of Slovan Bratislava, signing a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029. Toure, a former Manchester City player, stepped down from his role as an assistant coach for the Saudi Arabia national team to pursue this opportunity.

Slovan Bratislava's CEO, Ivan Kmotrik Jr., confirmed that Toure impressed during the interview process. The 43-year-old coach expressed his excitement about the role, stating he is ready to start on Monday and is looking forward to building a unique footballing philosophy at the club.

Toure mentioned his admiration for Italian coach Roberto Mancini, under whom he had previously worked, and emphasized his desire to bring new ideas to the team. He has a rich history in football, having spent three years with the Saudi Arabia national team and previously coaching at Tottenham's academy.
