Yayi's Stepmother Denies Claims of His Ekiti Origin

Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, is the consensus governorship candidate for Ogun State from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and currently serves as the senator representing Ogun West. His stepmother, Aminatu Abiola, publicly rejected allegations that he originates from Ekiti State, stating she is willing to testify in court if necessary.

The controversy arose after claims made by Abayomi Hunye, a suspended APC member, and Folake Marcus-Bello of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during interviews on Channels TV. Marcus-Bello alleged that Adeola's father was buried in Ekiti and his mother in Epe.

In response, Adeola demanded evidence from his critics within 24 hours or face legal action. Abiola confirmed her own origins from Iworoko in Ekiti but insisted that Adeola's father had no ties to Ekiti, stating he was buried in Lagos.

She also revealed that Adeola was born a Muslim and later converted to Christianity, changing his name from Sule to Olamilekan. Abiola urged residents of Yewa to support Adeola's governorship bid.
