Yayi Seeks Support for Ogun Governorship Bid from Obasanjo

Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, met with Iyabo Obasanjo, the former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and Sarafa Tunji Ishola to garner support for his governorship bid in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections. The meeting took place on April 13 at Obasanjo's Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, with Adeola accompanied by former deputy governors Segun Adesegun and Salmot Badru, among others.

Adeola praised Obasanjo for her acceptance of the party's decision to select a consensus governorship candidate. He expressed gratitude for the support from Obasanjo and Ishola, emphasizing the need for unity within the APC to ensure success in the upcoming elections.

Adeola also highlighted the importance of collaboration among party members, referencing the historical context of Ogun State's political landscape and the need for a united front to navigate political challenges.
