Yobe State Reports Highest Petrol Price at ₦1,134.73

According to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on February 3, 2026, petrol prices in Nigeria increased by 1.62% from January to February 2026, with the average retail price rising to ₦1,051.47 per litre from ₦1,034.76. Yobe State recorded the highest average petrol price at ₦1,134.73 per litre, followed by Sokoto at ₦1,116.81 and Akwa Ibom at ₦1,109.44.

In contrast, Lagos residents paid the lowest average price of ₦966.61 per litre, with Oyo and Kaduna following at ₦973.45 and ₦1,000.07, respectively. The report highlighted significant variations in petrol prices across different states, with the North East region recording the highest average price of ₦1,084.41, while the South West had the lowest average price at ₦1,023.89, reflecting disparities in fuel distribution and pricing across the country.
