Yohanna Kusau: Championing Primary Healthcare in Nigeria

Yohanna Kusau, born in 1974 in Makarfi Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has emerged as a pivotal figure in primary healthcare in Nigeria. He began his career in health after graduating from the College of Health Technology in 2008.

Currently, he is involved with the PAC4PHC project team, which focuses on community engagement in healthcare delivery. During a visit to the Kabusa Primary Healthcare Centre, it was evident that Kusau's presence has greatly enhanced service delivery, fostering trust among patients despite the challenges of understaffing and low resources.

He emphasizes the importance of listening to patients and providing dignified care, which has helped alleviate fears and uncertainties surrounding health issues. His approach has made the healthcare facility a beacon of hope for many in the community, demonstrating the critical role of frontline health workers in bridging care gaps.
