Kano AG Slams Police Commissioner for Pulling Out of Independence Day Parade

Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, AbdulKarim Maude SAN, criticized the Kano Police Command for withdrawing from the Independence Day parade, accusing them of undermining Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's authority. Maude argued that the police commissioner's actions posed a security risk and created unnecessary tension in the state.

He highlighted the constitutional role of the governor as the Chief Security Officer and criticized the police commissioner for disregarding lawful directives. The AG demanded the removal of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori for failing to uphold the governor's authority and maintain public order.

The controversy arose from the police commissioner's decision to pull out of the parade at Sani Abacha Stadium.
