YouTube Offers Higher Pay to Actors than Nollywood Cinema

Sandra Okunzuwa, a producer in Nollywood, asserted that YouTube offers better compensation for actors compared to traditional cinema. During a recent episode of a reality podcast, she highlighted the poor pay rates in Nollywood, particularly for projects outside of cinema and Netflix.

Okunzuwa disclosed that actors can earn between N4 million and N5 million for a four-day shoot on YouTube, which she believes is significantly higher than what is typically offered in the cinema industry. She emphasized that the perception that actors are not well-paid may stem from the focus on cinema and Netflix, while YouTube projects provide more lucrative opportunities for actors.
