NWAPDI Appeals for Land and Training to Boost Farming

Women farmers associated with the Nigerian Women for Agricultural Progressive Development Initiative (NWAPDI) have appealed to the Zamfara State Government for access to land, a training centre, and modern farming facilities to enhance food production. The state coordinator, Hajiya Shafa’atu Habibu Tsafe, made this appeal during the 2026 World Food Day celebration at the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters in Gusau.
Tsafe announced that NWAPDI plans to support 150 women farmers with essential inputs such as fertiliser, seedlings, insecticides, and processing equipment. She urged the First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, to assist NWAPDI in establishing a training centre and providing operational vehicles for reaching farmers across the 14 local government areas.
Tsafe highlighted the 2026 World Food Day theme, “Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow,” emphasizing the importance of women and youth-driven innovations in food production. The First Lady commended the efforts of women farmers and the commitment of NWAPDI, while also praising Governor Dauda Lawal for his agricultural support initiatives.
