Zimbabwe Shifts Venue to Durban for World Cup Qualifier Against Bafana Bafana

Zimbabwe has confirmed Durban as the venue for their clash with Bafana Bafana in the 2026 World Cup qualifier. Initially planning to host the match against Botswana, the Zimbabwe Football authority decided to switch to playing against Group C leaders South Africa in Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on October 6.

This change offers Bafana Bafana the advantage of playing in familiar surroundings, potentially easing the pressure ahead of the crucial fixture. South Africa currently leads Group C with 17 points, three points clear of Benin Republic.

However, they face the risk of a three-point deduction for fielding an ineligible midfielder, Teboho Mokoena, in a previous match against Lesotho. Despite this looming issue, Head Coach Hugo Broos's side remains in control of their destiny in the final two rounds of the qualifier.
