Doris Ogala Cybercrimes Act Controversy

Omoyele Sowore criticized the Nigerian Police Force for allegedly misusing the Cybercrimes Act to intimidate individuals, following the remand of actress Doris Ogala over allegations involving Pastor Chris Okafor. He called for an end to the criminalization of private disputes.

Doris Ogala, a Nollywood actress and governorship candidate, was remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre over allegations of cyberbullying and extortion involving Pastor Chris Okafor. Omoyele Sowore criticized the police for misusing the Cybercrimes Act in this case.

Omoyele Sowore condemned the remand of Doris Ogala at Kirikiri Correctional Centre, calling it an abuse of state power. Ogala faces charges related to alleged false messages and threats against Pastor Chris Okafor. Her bail application is set for October 30, 2026.
