Kwara State Fire Service Responds to Fatal Bus Crash
On a Sunday evening, a bus with registration number DTH840SA crashed on the Kwara Expressway near Iye-Maja Junction after suffering a punctured tyre while in motion. The Kwara State Fire Service confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the driver lost control, leading the bus to somersault and subsequently catch fire.
Public relations officer Hassan Adekunle reported that emergency operations commenced after the fire service received a distress call at approximately 6:35 PM. Passengers were evacuated from the burning vehicle, and those injured were transported to a hospital for medical attention.
Tragically, one individual was confirmed dead as a result of the crash. Chief Fire Officer Alabi Muhammed expressed condolences to the deceased's family and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
