Arewa Think Tank Backs Akpabio and Abbas for 2027

Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, the Convener of the Arewa Think Tank, has expressed support for Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, advocating for their re-election in 2027. Yakubu stated there is "no vacancy" in the leadership positions of the National Assembly, commending senators like Tahir Monguno and Cyril Fasuyi for endorsing Akpabio's return.

He described their support as a vote of confidence in Akpabio's leadership and highlighted the importance of continuity for stability in the legislature. Yakubu called on House members to emulate the senators by supporting Abbas for a second term, asserting that their backing is crucial for maintaining effective governance.

He acknowledged that the final decision regarding the leadership of the 11th National Assembly will occur after the 2027 general elections, urging lawmakers to respect parliamentary procedures during the selection of principal officers.
