Akpabio Calls for Northern Support for Tinubu's Re-election

On Saturday, Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, advocated for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 during a meeting with the Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly in Abuja. Akpabio called on Northern youths to support the administration's economic reforms, which include the removal of the fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms.

He acknowledged that these reforms were initially challenging for Nigerians but deemed them necessary for repositioning the economy and achieving fiscal sustainability. Akpabio stated that the reforms are beginning to yield positive results, such as improved revenue collection and increased investor confidence.

He encouraged Northern youths to engage actively in governance and emphasized the importance of policy continuity to avoid undermining the gains achieved. Alhaji Ibrahim Dan-Musa, the spokesperson for the Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly, praised Akpabio for fostering political understanding between the North and South.
