Kano Fire Service Responds to 838 Emergencies, Saves 91 Lives Amid Property Losses

The Kano Fire Service disclosed handling 838 emergencies in 2025, including 665 fire outbreaks and 130 false alarms. Despite rescuing 91 lives, 120 fatalities were recorded.

Property worth N6.47 billion was destroyed, with assets valued at N15.32 billion salvaged. The service operates in 44 local government areas of Kano State, led by Director Alhaji Sani Ana.

The report highlighted a significant increase in residential fire outbreaks, reaching 376 cases in 2025. The service stressed the importance of public awareness and cooperation to prevent disasters and protect lives and properties across the state.
