Tinubu Launches $12M Entrepreneurship Centre in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu announced the establishment of a $12 million Abuja Centre for Entrepreneurship, designed to bolster Nigeria's business ecosystem by supporting 1,500 MSMEs and 400 start-ups. The project, funded by the Republic of Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), is being developed at the SMEDAN Industrial Development Centre in Idu, Abuja, in collaboration with the federal government, SMEDAN, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The centre will offer facilities, technology, training, and enterprise support to aspiring entrepreneurs and growing businesses, with an initial focus on 500 entrepreneurs. The funding allocation includes approximately $5.9 million for construction and $6.1 million for equipment and programs.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of small businesses in the economy, stating that the centre will enhance access to necessary resources for entrepreneurs. The facility will also be inclusive, accommodating women and persons with disabilities, and will serve businesses in Abuja and surrounding cities.
