144 Students Graduate First Class from Benson Idahosa University

On 14 September 2026, Benson Idahosa University (BIU) held its 22nd Convocation Ceremony in Benin City, Edo State, where 1,324 students graduated, including 144 who received First Class degrees. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Aroye Okhuoya, reported that the graduating class consisted of 1,059 undergraduates and 265 postgraduate students.

The breakdown of undergraduate results included 490 Second Class Upper, 377 Second Class Lower, and 48 Third Class degrees. The Chancellor, Archbishop Margaret Benson Idahosa, encouraged graduates to use their knowledge to address challenges such as moral decline and economic uncertainty.

Bishop Feb Idahosa, the university's President, urged graduates to be ambassadors of the institution's values and to create opportunities and solutions in society. He expressed optimism that the Class of 2026 would rise to leadership positions and contribute meaningfully to the community.
