LASU to Graduate 20,604 Students, 494 First Class Honours

Lagos State University (LASU) is set to graduate 20,604 students during its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello announced that 494 students achieved First Class honours, with 262 from the 2024/2025 academic session and 232 from the 2025/2026 session.
In the 2024/2025 session, 7,621 students graduated, while 8,653 graduated in the 2025/2026 session. The breakdown includes 3,155 Second Class Upper Division, 3,439 Second Class Lower Division, 622 Third Class, and 37 with passes for the former session, and 3,545 Second Class Upper Division, 4,157 Second Class Lower Division, 678 Third Class, and 31 with passes for the latter.
The overall total includes 3,383 postgraduate students. Ayilara Lawal Olawale, with a CGPA of 4.96, was the best graduating student for 2024/2025, while Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, with a CGPA of 4.97, was the best for 2025/2026.
The convocation will be historic as it is the last presided over by Prof. Olatunji-Bello, with ceremonies scheduled from August 17 to August 19, 2024.
