Nigerian Troops Arrest 15 in Lagos Oil Theft Operation

On April 17, 2026, Nigerian troops from the 65 Battalion, 81 Division, dismantled an illegal oil network in Lagos, resulting in the arrest of 15 suspects. The operation targeted a large-scale oil theft syndicate operating along the Lekki-Ibeju coastal axis, particularly near the Dangote Refinery corridor.

The troops conducted the raid during the early hours, following sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance that indicated suspicious movements linked to the group.
