Nigerian ADC Claims Credit for Government's Reversal of 15% Fuel Import Duty

The African Democrat Congress (ADC) has taken credit for the Nigerian government's decision to reverse the proposed 15% import duty on petrol and diesel. The ADC accused the government of policy confusion and lack of clarity, attributing the reversal to their prompt response.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's National Public Secretary, highlighted the economic strain the tariff would have caused and commended the government for heeding their call. The ADC criticized the government's frequent policy reversals and questioned the rationale behind considering such a tax without ensuring local production capacity.
