Ghanaian Teen Javits Frimpong Shot Dead in Bronx

Javits Frimpong, a 15-year-old Ghanaian boy, was shot dead in the Bronx, New York, shortly before 9:30 am on Thursday, near East 171st Street and Crotona Place. The New York Police Department reported that he was shot once in the abdomen and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police are currently searching for three teenage suspects, aged between 16 and 18, who were last seen wearing black clothing and blue surgical masks. Thomas Frimpong, Javits' father, revealed that his son had moved from Ghana to the United States about a year ago to live with him.
He learned of the shooting from the principal of Dreamyard Preparatory, where Javits attended. Thomas alleged that his son had been bullied by another student, reporting multiple incidents, including a fight with two boys days before the shooting.
He described his son as quiet and expressed devastation over the loss, urging the suspects to surrender. The NYPD has requested anyone with information to contact its Crime Stoppers hotline.
