Bauchi's Hon. Soro Provides Solar Irrigation to 1,500 Farmers

Over 1,500 farmers in the Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency of Bauchi State have received solar-powered irrigation equipment through an initiative led by Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, a member of the House of Representatives. Each beneficiary was provided with a DC solar engine pump and three solar panels, promoting a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional fuel-powered irrigation methods.

Soro stated that the initiative aims to improve access to water, lower farming costs, and enhance agricultural production. He emphasized the importance of harnessing solar energy for year-round agricultural activities, stating, “Turning sunlight into water, water into crops, and crops into income is the real story behind this initiative.” The program is designed to reduce farmers' dependence on petrol and diesel-powered systems, thereby lowering production costs and enabling cultivation beyond the rainy season.
