Bank of Agriculture Partners with AFAN to Fund Farmers

The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has announced a partnership with the All-Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) to finance 400,000 farmers ahead of the 2026 dry-season farming cycle. This initiative is part of the BOA’s Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund, aimed at enhancing year-round food production and improving farmers' access to agricultural inputs and irrigation equipment.
AFAN will identify farmers within its network, providing details such as locations, commodities, farm sizes, and proposed dry-season acreage. Approved financing will be allocated through suitable Farmer Aggregation Companies (FACs), which will coordinate the distribution of inputs and production requirements.
The program will also supply irrigation toolkits to help farmers reduce reliance on rainfall. Ayo Sotinrin, Managing Director of BOA, stated that the initiative supports continuous production beyond the main farming season, thereby enhancing farmers' livelihoods and ensuring a reliable food supply.
Participation will be subject to verification and credit assessment in line with BOA’s policies.
