Tiwa Savage's Berklee Program Awards $2.3M in Scholarships

The grand finale of Tiwa Savage’s Berklee in Nigeria program took place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Art and Culture, formerly the National Theatre, celebrating the achievements of 18 young artists. These participants were awarded scholarships totaling $2.3 million to study at Berklee College of Music in the United States.

The event, hosted by Dare Art Alade, featured performances that highlighted the fusion of Afrobeat, R&B, soul, jazz, and contemporary Nigerian sounds, showcasing the artists' original compositions developed during a week-long boot camp. The program, which began in February 2026, aims to invest in Nigeria's creative future by combining local talent with international expertise, providing a pathway for young musicians to access global platforms.

The audience, including notable figures like Rita Dominic and Yeni Kuti, cheered as the winners realized their dreams of pursuing world-class music education.
