Iyiola Omisore Sues APC Over Governorship Disqualification

Iyiola Omisore, a former national secretary of the APC and a senator, has initiated legal action against the APC concerning his disqualification during the party's primaries for the upcoming Osun governorship election, which is slated for March 2, 2026. The case has been filed at the Federal High Court in Osogbo and is set to be heard by Justice Adefunmilola Demi Ajayi.

The court has adjourned the matter to March 2, although the adjournment date has not been confirmed. Omisore expressed his grievances regarding the disqualification and indicated that he was surprised by the timing of the lawsuit, especially as the campaign period is about to commence on March 11.

Bola Oyebamiji, a spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke, commented on Omisore's status as a strong leader and suggested that Omisore's actions may signal a potential challenge to the APC's candidate. The APC has not provided a formal comment on the lawsuit.
