FIFA Addresses Visa Issues Ahead of 2026 World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino spoke on Wednesday regarding visa issues affecting the 2026 World Cup, which is set to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and South Africa. Infantino responded to concerns about FIFA's control over the tournament, particularly in light of incidents involving Somali referee Omar Artan, who was unable to enter the U.S. due to visa complications.

Additionally, members of the Iranian team's support staff were also denied visas. Infantino stressed the importance of finding solutions to these issues, advocating for respect and cooperation among governing bodies and law enforcement in sports.

He made these remarks during a press conference ahead of the tournament's kickoff on Thursday.
