New Jersey Cuts World Cup Transport Fare to $105

New Jersey has announced a reduction in round-trip transport fares for the 2026 World Cup games at MetLife Stadium, lowering the fare from $150 to $105. Kri Kolluri, the CEO of NJ Transit, stated that this decision was made in response to the need for increased security and the anticipated higher number of passengers due to the closure of public parks around the stadium.

The MetLife Stadium is set to host eight World Cup matches, including the final on July 19. The fare reduction has drawn criticism as it is less than 15% of the typical daily round-trip fare, which is approximately $80.

FIFA's own shuttle service is priced at $82. The fare adjustment reflects the organization's efforts to accommodate fans and ensure accessibility during the event.
