Ancelotti Analyzes Brazil's World Cup Exit to Norway

Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of the Brazil National Team, addressed the team's exit from the 2026 World Cup after being eliminated by Norway in the Round of 16. In the match, Erling Haaland scored two late goals for Norway, while Neymar Jr converted a penalty to pull one back for Brazil.

Ancelotti stated in an interview with ESPN that he believed the hydration break negatively impacted his team's performance. He remarked, “I think we lost the World Cup during the hydration break vs Norway,” indicating that prior to this break, Brazil was in control of the game.

He acknowledged that Norway had significant possession and played similarly to their previous match against England. Ancelotti reflected on his decision-making during the match, suggesting that he mistakenly thought Brazil had lost control and made lineup changes that coincided with Haaland's goal.
