Accord Party Rejects Olawepo-Hashim's Candidacy for 2027

The Accord Party, through its National Chairman Maxwell Mgbuden, officially disowned Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim's candidacy for the 2027 presidential elections. Mgbuden clarified that the party neither conducted a presidential primary nor produced any candidate, despite Olawepo-Hashim's media announcement claiming a successful primary with significant member turnout.

The party stated that the purported exercise was not recognized by its leadership and was not valid. Olawepo-Hashim had expressed interest in contesting for the presidency and paid a total of N50 million, which included N10 million for an expression of interest form and N40 million for the nomination form.

However, the party indicated that the payment was made outside the approved timeline for submission, leading to the cancellation of the nomination process. Consequently, the party instructed its bank to reverse the payment.

Mgbuden reiterated that compliance with nomination procedures is mandatory, regardless of the number of aspirants.
