Atiku Abubakar Calls for APC Ouster at ADC Event in Ondo

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 elections, urged Nigerians to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during a reception for Eyitayo Jegede, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who defected to the ADC with his supporters. The event took place in Akure, Ondo State, where Atiku criticized the APC-led administration for worsening the country's economic situation and promised to return to Ondo State to present the ADC's plans to voters.

He emphasized that the gathering was a welcome rally, not a campaign rally, and assured attendees of the ADC's commitment to restoring subsidies and security. Atiku referenced the economic performance during his tenure as Vice President from 1999 to 2007, stating that the APC is responsible for the current economic decline.

He called on opposition supporters to mobilize voters and protect their votes, citing the successful voter turnout and protection in the 2026 Osun State governorship election. The ADC's National Chairman, David Mark, was represented by National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola, who also urged party members to campaign and support ADC candidates.
