Nigeria Falls 3-0 to Guinea-Bissau in AFCON Qualifiers

In the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Nigeria suffered a significant setback, losing 3-0 to Guinea-Bissau in Group L. The match saw Franculino score the opening goal in the 15th minute, followed by Mama Baldé doubling the lead midway through the second half. Álvaro Djaló sealed the victory with a goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

This loss came after Nigeria's initial 2-1 victory over Madagascar. With Tanzania guaranteed a spot in the finals as co-hosts, Nigeria must now compete with Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar for the remaining qualifying position.

Meanwhile, Ghana also faced a disappointing defeat, losing 4-2 to The Gambia after initially leading 2-0. Ernest Nuamah scored from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, and Felix Afena-Gyan added another goal six minutes later.

However, The Gambia equalized before the break and completed their comeback with two more goals in the second half, leaving Ghana under pressure in Group C.
