The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stipulated that only one additional team from Group L will qualify for the finals, alongside co-hosts Tanzania, who are guaranteed a spot.

This unique arrangement means Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Madagascar are competing for a single qualifying berth, making every remaining match crucial for Nigeria to avoid an early exit from the qualifiers.
