APC Group Cautions Tinubu on Wike’s Coalition Ahead of 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Grassroots Organisation has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding the political activities of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and his Rainbow Coalition as the 2027 general elections approach. The organization, led by chairman Mukhtar Tanimu Rabiu, expressed concerns that Wike's coalition could weaken the APC and create a parallel structure within the party.

They rejected claims that Wike's influence contributed to Tinubu's 2023 presidential victory. Wike has defended the coalition, stating it is a platform for various political parties supporting Tinubu's re-election and not an APC structure.

However, the APC Grassroots Organisation emphasized that supporting Tinubu should not come at the expense of the party's established structures, warning that a separate political entity could lead to conflicting interests for APC candidates in upcoming elections. They urged that the existing party structures remain central to the electoral process.
