APC's Okechukwu Urges Tinubu to Keep Wike Alliance

On Sunday, Osita Okechukwu, a foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urged President Bola Tinubu to sustain his alliance with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. Okechukwu emphasized the political significance of this alliance, which he believes contributed to Tinubu's victory in the 2023 presidential election.

He reacted to efforts by some APC state governors to distance Tinubu from Wike, arguing that Wike could provide substantial electoral value in the 2027 elections. Okechukwu noted that Wike's political realignment has weakened Atiku Abubakar's influence and suggested that Wike could deliver more votes than some APC governors.

He cautioned these governors to reflect on their conduct during the party's primaries. Okechukwu expressed optimism about the three-week gap between the presidential election on January 16, 2027, and the gubernatorial election on February 6, 2027, viewing it as an opportunity for voters to evaluate government performance.
