APC and PDP Clash Over Alleged Makinde-Atiku Deal

The political climate in Oyo State intensified as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) engaged in a heated exchange over an alleged political contract between Governor Seyi Makinde and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. The APC accused Makinde of entering into a political arrangement with Atiku that purportedly involves the misappropriation of state financial resources, claiming that this deal is part of a broader strategy to secure political power.

In response, the PDP labeled these allegations as reckless propaganda, asserting that the claims are baseless and politically motivated. PDP spokesperson Michael Ogunsina criticized the APC for spreading misinformation and emphasized the transparency of the state’s financial management under Makinde's leadership.

The APC further warned that the political alliance between Makinde and Atiku could lead to disastrous consequences, while also alleging that Makinde plans a significant financial commitment to support Atiku's presidential ambitions.
