Makinde Accuses Wike of Undermining PDP for Tinubu

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde publicly accused Nyesom Wike of attempting to weaken the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to facilitate support for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 presidential campaign. Makinde's allegations were made during a meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on a Sunday.

He further claimed that Wike's actions have contributed to the ongoing crises within the PDP, stressing that party members are feeling the strain of these internal conflicts. Makinde identified Wike's ministerial appointments as a means to back factions that agree with supporting Tinubu's 2027 ambitions.

In a related context, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State issued a statement reflecting on the dwindling relevance of the PDP, suggesting that the party is facing a collapse in its opposition structure, which signals deeper leadership crises within the PDP.
