Shehu Sani Questions Credibility of Opposition Ahead of 2027

Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, has raised concerns regarding the credibility of individuals currently presenting themselves as opposition leaders in Nigeria as the country approaches the 2027 general elections. In a press briefing held in Kaduna, Sani stressed the importance of having a vibrant and credible opposition, warning that democracy cannot flourish without it.

His remarks come in light of multiple legal investigations surrounding former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Sani pointed out that some individuals claiming to be opposition figures were part of previous administrations that contributed to Nigeria's current challenges.

He urged Nigerians to look beyond familiar political actors and demand leaders with proven integrity as the nation prepares for the upcoming elections.
