Atiku Abubakar and Amaechi Strategize for ADC's 2027 Campaign

On September 17, 2026, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, conducted a strategic meeting with the party's leadership in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This meeting coincided with the ADC's National Working Committee (NWC), led by Senator David Mark, which is preparing to unveil the Presidential Campaign Council.

Public campaigns for presidential and National Assembly candidates commenced on August 19, 2026, while those for governorship and State Houses of Assembly candidates began on September 9, 2026. Senator David Mark previously directed ADC governorship candidates to prioritize the party's commitment to returning fuel subsidy in their campaigns and to avoid hate speech and empty promises.

The ADC aims to focus on reducing the cost of living for Nigerians. Following the meeting, a National Reconciliation and Peace Committee was inaugurated to address grievances from the primaries, with Senator Tunde Ogbeha as its chair.
