Atiku Abubakar to Campaign Nationwide for 2027 Elections

The Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) announced that its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is set to campaign across all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory in preparation for the 2027 elections. This declaration was made in response to criticisms suggesting that Atiku would not engage in a nationwide campaign.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the Director of Media and Publicity for the ADC-PCC, labeled such claims as arrogant and insulting to Nigerians. He emphasized that a president seeking re-election should be accountable to the electorate regarding his administration's performance and future plans.

Ologbondiyan criticized President Bola Tinubu for allegedly avoiding nationwide campaigning, arguing that previous presidents successfully balanced official duties with election campaigns. He stated that widespread dissatisfaction over issues like hunger, poverty, and insecurity might explain Tinubu's reluctance to campaign.

Ologbondiyan asserted that Atiku is ready to meet voters and address Nigeria's pressing challenges.
