Abia Governor Otti Welcomes Atiku and Obi to Campaign

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State announced that both Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, and Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, are permitted to campaign in Abia State. In an interview with Arise Television aired on a Friday, Otti expressed that he has no conflicts with Obi and welcomes any candidate who wishes to campaign in his state, stating, “Absolutely, anybody that wants to campaign in my state is allowed.” He further emphasized that this openness is a fundamental aspect of democracy.

This announcement comes in the wake of an incident where Peter Obi was prevented from entering Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, for a meeting with NDC stakeholders and a planned visit to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.
