Obi and Kwankwaso Join NDC Amid ADC Crisis

On a recent date, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governors, joined the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) after a lengthy meeting with the party's leader, Seriake Dickson, in Abuja. Both leaders participated in the membership registration process, with Kwankwaso presenting his membership card and Obi receiving his shortly before leaving the ADC.

Their decision to join the NDC comes in light of internal crises within the ADC, particularly following a Supreme Court judgment that recognized David Mark's leadership amidst ongoing leadership disputes. The duo aims to avoid similar issues in the NDC and is reportedly considering a joint presidential ticket under a new coalition known as the "OK Movement." This coalition seeks to challenge the ruling party in the 2027 elections.

The ADC's internal wrangling has made both leaders uncomfortable, prompting their departure to form a more stable opposition force.
