Ndume Urges Focus on Policies, Not Tinubu's Credentials

As political parties initiate campaigns for the presidential election scheduled for January, Senator Ali Ndume, a former Senate Leader and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, advised opposition party leaders to concentrate on substantive issues rather than engaging in smear campaigns against the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a press statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Ndume noted that concerns have been raised regarding Tinubu's academic credentials, particularly the absence of details about his primary and secondary education in the Form EC9 submitted for his nomination.

However, he pointed out that Tinubu has provided his Bachelor of Science degree from Chicago State University and his National Youth Service Corps certificate. Ndume asserted that Tinubu meets the constitutional educational requirements for the presidency, dismissing the focus on his secondary school certificate as irrelevant.

He urged opposition candidates to present their economic policies and performance comparisons instead of fixating on Tinubu's qualifications.
