Ndume Advocates for New Leadership in APC Campaign Council

Ali Ndume, the lawmaker representing Borno South, expressed his view that President Bola Tinubu should not serve as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 general elections. In an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Ndume argued that the party’s national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, should take the lead in these campaign efforts.

He articulated that the president is essentially the "product" of the APC that needs to be marketed to the electorate. Ndume's comments came in response to Tinubu's recent establishment of the Presidential Campaign Council, in which he appointed himself as chairman.

Ndume suggested that state governors should lead the presidential campaign in their respective states, supported by a coordinating team to manage these efforts effectively.
