Ebonyi Traders Back PDP's Odii for 2027 Governorship

The Ebonyi Markets Traders Movement (EMTM) has officially endorsed Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as its sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State. This decision was made unanimously during an expanded council meeting in Abakaliki, as stated in a communiqué signed by the National President, Comrade Nwite Ransome.

The movement, which claims membership across all 13 local government areas and 171 wards in the state, based its endorsement on Odii's merit, competence, and character, highlighting his commitment to economic empowerment and job creation. The traders expressed concerns over the state of markets, including dilapidated infrastructure and multiple taxation.

They presented an eight-point economic agenda for the incoming administration, which includes modern market construction, digital payment systems, tax harmonization, skills academies, and improved market security. Mr Mark Onu, representing Odii, thanked the traders for their support and promised to address their concerns if elected.
