Edo Governor Okpebholo Backs Tinubu for 2027 Election

In an interview with Channel Television, Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo expressed optimism that the people of Edo State will support Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. He stated that the electorate is likely to cast approximately 2.5 million votes for Tinubu, attributing this support to the financial assistance being provided to the citizens.

Okpebholo also referenced the 2023 presidential election, where former presidential candidate Peter Obi was defeated by Tinubu, attributing Obi's loss to the shortcomings of former Governor Godwin Obaseki. The governor's remarks highlight the political dynamics in Edo State as the 2027 elections approach, emphasizing the influence of financial incentives on voter behavior.
