Dr. Tunji Alausa, the current Minister of Education, has publicly dismissed rumors suggesting he may resign from his position to pursue a governorship ambition in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 elections.

The speculation was fueled by a post from Imran Muhammad on social media, which Alausa refuted by emphasizing his commitment to his current role. He made this clarification during a Federal Executive Council meeting, where he was present alongside other officials.

Alausa, who was appointed Minister of Education on October 23, 2024, following a cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu, previously served as Minister of State for Health. The rumors about his potential resignation have intensified discussions online, particularly regarding the political landscape in Lagos State, where various candidates are positioning themselves for the governorship race, including notable figures such as Obafemi Hamzat and Akinwunmi Ambode.
