Atiku Welcomes Peter Obi to ADC Ahead of 2027 Election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar warmly welcomed Peter Obi to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as Obi officially joined the party ahead of the 2027 election. Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, defected to the ADC on December 31, 2025.

The announcement was made during an event at the Nike Lake Resort in Enugu. Atiku expressed his best wishes for Obi, while Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesperson for ADC, conveyed the party's support for Obi.

This move signifies a significant political development as opposition leaders in Nigeria continue consultations for the nation's interest.
