Northern Governors Back Tinubu for 2027 Re-election Bid

On Sunday, senior political figures from Northern Nigeria convened in Kaduna to express their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's bid for re-election in 2027. The event, organized by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, took place at the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Conference Centre.

Attendees included governors such as Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Babagana Zulum of Borno State, and host governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, along with federal ministers including Defence Minister Alhaji and Housing Minister Engr. Mustapha Rabe Darma. Governor Uba Sani highlighted the endorsement of Tinubu by the Northern Nigerian Women Ulama, citing significant achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and skills development.

He urged the Women Ulama to mobilize grassroots support across the 19 Northern states, countering regional sentiment in the 2027 election narrative. The forum concluded with calls for coalition-building among various stakeholders ahead of the elections.
