Olubadan: Voters Will Decide Oyo Leaders in 2027

Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, asserted that the outcome of the 2027 elections in Oyo State will be decided by the voters rather than any individual influence. He made this statement while addressing journalists at his residence in Bodija, Ibadan, on Wednesday.

Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, expressed that it is essential for political aspirants to allow the populace to choose their leaders based on performance and records. He refrained from naming any political candidates, emphasizing that the electorate should be the ultimate judge of aspirants.

Additionally, Ladoja condemned the recent abduction of 39 students and a teacher in the Oriire Local Government Area, describing the incident as unfortunate but expressed confidence in the efforts of government security agencies to secure the release of the victims. He also condemned land grabbing activities in Ibadanland, labeling them as unacceptable in the ancient city.
